Principal’s Message

As a new member to this school community, I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of you for your warm welcome. The COVID-19 pandemic has pushed us to find innovative ways to contribute to our profession and to maintain student engagement and learning. While we now must work through different protocols and procedures, our educational philosophy remains as always.

At Gilmore Community School, our mission is to provide a happy, safe, supportive and challenging learning environment. We want our children to become compassionate citizens able to contribute in a global community. We are Safe, Kind and Fair. We believe in academic excellence, the pursuit of knowledge and skills, and developing a positive attitude that leads to life-long learning. We implement varied strategies to address student needs. We believe that learning is both an individual and a social process that requires active participation in a safe and caring environment. We are a Community School; staff, students, parents and the greater school community all share in the role of leading this learning process. As partners in your child’s education, we welcome your input and feedback.

Our school goal this year continues to focus on reading and social-emotional learning.  We look forward to creating many opportunities for students to develop these and other competencies.

Please explore our website to learn more about our school and members of the Gilmore community, as well as any updates you may find interesting. Notices from the office will be emailed by Communications Gilmore.  If you would like additional information beyond what is available online, please contact us at the school directly via email or phone. I look forward to meeting you in person one day soon.
