What is Digital Literacy and Citizenship?
Digital literacies are the skills and knowledge we need to use digital tools and access online information. Digital Citizenship involves values and behaviours that guide appropriate, responsible and safe use of technology.
Much like other health and wellness topics, it is important that students receive consistent messaging about technology use starting at an early age. By reinforcing concepts of device balance, digital kindness, information literacy, and online safety, we hope to set our students up to be responsible digital citizens throughout their lives.
Digital Literacy and Citizenship Week: Privacy & Security
The theme for next week is online privacy and security. As your child learns about the importance of protecting their personal information and data online, we invite you to join in these conversations at home.

A very big thank you to everyone who made purchases at this year’s Scholastic Book Fair. We did very well again this year, thanks to the generosity of our Gilmore families. In addition to books, some of our earnings are being used towards an author visit in January for literacy week!
This year, our annual Jingle Bell Walk carries special meaning. We will continue the tradition of collecting clothes and nonperishable food items for those in need, but we also want to honour the memory of Mr. Morton, the beloved teacher who started this event and recently passed away after his courageous battle with cancer. If you would like to make an additional gesture in his honour, donations can be made to BC Cancer to support cancer research and care via
