Principal’s Message

B.C. students achieve their full potential in an education environment that is equitable, free of racism and systemic barriers, and where all students, staff, and families feel welcome, safe, respected, and valued.

-Ministry of Education and Child Care

At Gilmore Community School, our mission is to provide a happy, supportive, and challenging learning environment. We want our children to become compassionate citizens able to contribute in a global community. We are Safe, Kind and Fair. We believe in academic excellence, the pursuit of knowledge and skills, and in developing a positive attitude that leads to life-long learning. We believe that learning is both an individual and a social process that requires active participation in a safe and caring environment. We are a Community School; staff, students, parents, and the greater school community all share in the role of leading this learning process. As partners in your child’s education, we welcome your input and feedback.

This year, Gilmore staff began the process of transitioning our school goal to focus on Math. We will continue to focus on Social-Emotional Learning. We look forward to creating many opportunities for students to develop these and other competencies.

Parents are partners in education, and we value the time, effort, feedback and support of our parent community.  We have a dedicated and committed PAC executive at Gilmore Community school. This Council sponsors various activities and events throughout the year.

Please explore our website to learn more about our school and members of the Gilmore community, as well as updates that may be of interest. Notices from the office will be emailed by Communications Gilmore. If you would like additional information beyond what is available online, please contact us at the school directly via email or phone.

With gratitude,

Maria Perez
