Dear Gilmore Community,
I would like to have a Book Swap this year, and I require some help to achieve this goal. I plan to have the Book Swap on Thursday March 15—just before the start of Spring Break.
Students would bring gently used books (no scribbles or rips), to the library between 12:00 and 12:30 pm on Tuesdays and Wednesdays from February 6 to March 14. The books should be appropriate for an elementary school, fiction and nonfiction – please, no encyclopedias, I would just send those back home with the child. I will keep track of how many books each child brings and that is how many books they can choose from the book swap. As I will be starting the Book Swap with 8 boxes of donations and duplicate books removed from our shelves, students who didn’t bring in books to swap should be able to choose a book or some books as well.
At this time the help I need would be: volunteers to help set up the books from 3pm for 30 – 60 minutes on Wednesday, March 14; to help during the Book Swap during the school day on Thursday, March 15, and finally, to help box up any remaining books after lunch on Thursday, March 15.
Please let me know if you are able to help during any of the mentioned times. Also, if you have run or helped at Book Swaps at other schools and have some advice for me, I would be happy to have it!
